عبدالسلام أبو الشامات

A Syrian stage actor, who is considered a pillar of Syrian radio and television in the fifties and sixties. In 1938, he got a lowly job in the Council of Ministers. He managed to establish an amateur troupe consisting of 15 actors, and he began to compose a large number of folk songs and colloquial poems, in which he spent eight years. Slowly, the troupe made a good name in Damascus, which at that time had no other means of entertainment than these troupes.
